Did you miss our recent HDR Completions Workshop? This workshop assists HDR students in their final 6 months of candidature to complete their thesis. It presents students with practical skills and strategies to assist in the writing process and outlines submission processes and requirements. IMPORTANT DATES FOR DECEMBER GRADUATION
Students who have received their examiner’s results and would like to attend the December graduation please note the following important dates: - Wed 16 Nov - Final day for students to upload thesis amendments into Inspire
- Wed 23 Nov - Final day for supervisors to approve thesis amendments in Inspire
- Tues 13 Dec - University Conferral (Students who have completed the requirements for their degree will be automatically conferred on this date)
- Tues 20 Dec - Graduation ceremonies commence
Students should monitor their Flinders email. Eligible students will be emailed information about graduation and will be required to register their attendance. For further information please view the graduations website.

FOR HDR INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL APPLICATIONS
PLAYFORD TRUST 2023 SCHOLARSHIPS - NOW OPEN
Each year the Playford Trust offers two PhD scholarships for students planning to carry out research in its priority areas. The scholarships are valued at $17,500 and are paid at the rate of $5000 per annum for three-and-a-half years. The scholarships are intended to supplement an existing Australian Government Research Training Program Stipend Scholarship (RTPS) or similar institutional PhD stipend scholarship. Students must be undertaking their research the priority areas for the trust (listed
here). Students must be commencing their PhD in the year of the scholarship or have commenced their PhD no earlier than August of the preceding year. Applications are now open and will close on Friday 20 January 2023. Read more>
DATA MANAGEMENT PLANNER NOW AVAILABLE
To help researchers meet their requirements of ACRCR and grant funding, we now have available an online Data Management Planner, taking the guess work out of storing and managing data and having 100% control. The planner is specifically designed from input received from our Researchers at Flinders and ensures compliance with the ACRCR and grant funded obligations along with minimizing data loss and enabling cyber protection. The DMP is available in ServiceOne under 'Research Services'. Read more >
ABS DATASETS AND CENSUS 2021
The Australian Bureau of Statistics/Universities Australia agreement allows researchers from our university to apply for free of charge access to various confidentialised datasets. With initial information about the results of Census 2021 released in June second wave of the latest Census data followed in October to include topics covering employment and location-based variables. The latest Census data adds to the vast array of ABS datasets available to our researchers. Read more >
INFORMATION SESSION ON HUMAN RESEARCH ETHICS
This session will provide researchers, including HDR students, with valuable information about human research ethics processes. It will cover ethics concepts, when you need to apply for approval, important regulations and guidelines and the application process. The next session will be held on Friday 2 December online.
