Click here Dear colleagues We are happy to announce that we are now inviting proposals to be submitted for the Equity Frontiers Small-Scale Trials Grants Program. This Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success (ACSES) Program will fund proposals for controlled trials to test student equity interventions that address contemporary developments and challenges in higher education equity policy, practice, and evaluation. The Program focuses on interventions that address current gaps in student equity throughout the entire higher education student life cycle, as well as other issues highlighted in the Australian Universities Accord Panel's Review of Higher Education. Proposals outlining plans for scaling up and/or adopting interventions to ensure their lasting and widespread impact within university settings, and potentially beyond, are given priority. ACSES invites proposals from suitably qualified and experienced equity professionals in interventions relating to all student equity issues in the Australian higher education context. Between 7 to 15 projects will be funded in the 2024 round, with the value of funding per project ranging between $75,000 and $250,000 (excluding GST). Projects will be funded over a 12-month period, commencing in August 2024, with the following co-funding model applying:

Applications now open: ACSES Visiting Scholarships 2024-25We are now inviting researchers, practitioners, and policymakers at all career stages to apply for an ACSES Visiting Scholarship. ACSES Visiting Scholarships are aimed at producing and supporting collaborative research projects between ACSES and higher education equity researchers, and contributing to the strategic goals of ACSES’s Research and Policy Program. Call for abstracts for JHEPM Special Issue on The future of Australian higher education and the Australian Universities AccordThis special issue of the Journal of Higher Education Policy and Management (JHEPM) seeks contributions that will inform the future of Australian higher education and the implementation of the Australian Universities Accord (the 'Accord'). It will be co-edited by ACSES's Research and Policy Director Professor Ian Li, alongside Dr Peter Bentley from Innovative Research Universities and Dr Carroll Graham from the Association for Tertiary Education Management. JHEPM welcomes full-length journal articles and shorter essays, particularly empirical analyses that could help provide direction for the Accord implementation stage. Submissions are expected to explicitly address questions or knowledge gaps identified in the Accord. International studies are also welcome, particularly comparative studies that draw upon the Australian system as a comparator. New article: Perceived skill outcomes among coursework and research graduates and evolution over timeACSES's Research and Policy Director Professor Ian Li has also published a new article alongside Edith Cowan University's Professor Denise Jackson in the Journal of Further and Higher Education. Their article looks into the perceived skill outcomes among Australian higher education graduates, focusing on viewpoints from over 24,000 research and coursework graduates. Findings reveal shifting perceptions over time, particularly among coursework graduates, emphasising the importance of tailored interventions like work-integrated learning.
