Cooking sessions for youth with T1DStaff from Perth Children's Hospital and Telethon Kids Institute have been cooking up a storm with adolescents living with type 1 diabetes over the last two weeks. Thanks to funding from the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Teaching Kitchens program runs on Tuesday evenings for four weeks and combines nutrition education and practical cooking skills to connect peers and have fun. Participants have also been given tips on following a healthy balanced diet and mindful eating. First up they cooked a yummy penne bolognese followed by a tasty beef stir fry. |
