It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to serve as your Interim Dean during this time of transition. Having been a HDR Coordinator in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences for a number of years, I have already met many of you and look forward to meeting many more. Roxana Diamond: Decriminalising sex work
Roxana Diamond is a PhD Candidate within the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work. She is conducting peer based research, looking at the everyday lives of South Australian sex workers. Roxana is passionate about sex worker rights and is involved with the campaign to Decriminalise sex work in South Australia. Read more >
Horizon Award Ceremony: Reem Alothmany on professional development
Join the Horizon Award Ceremony on 8 December 10am to celebrate and acknowledge students who have achieved a horizon award this semester. The ceremony will feature a keynote presentation by BGL PHD student and Platinum Award recipient Reem Alothmany who will speak on her experience within the Horizon and how her professional development journey has impacted her future career. Coming soon: Epigeum - New online research skills training
We are excited to announce that Flinders has purchased a suite on online training materials through Epigeum for our researchers and HDR students. The suite includes comprehensive modules on research integrity, research methods, transferrable skills and supervising doctoral studies, developed by leading academics and experts across the globe. You will be receiving more information on the training materials and how to access them from the HDR Development team shortly.
Handbook’s handy new feature
Handbook provides up to date information on all courses and topics offered at Flinders and replaces the course rules and topic information pages for all curriculum offered in 2022 and beyond. Handbook has had over 125,000 page views to date since it went live in October and has been very well received. Check out the new features recently added. Read more >
HDR Student Annual Satisfaction Survey
The HDR Student Annual Satisfaction survey is currently under development and will be distributed later in December. This is your chance to have your say, voice your opinion on the services and resources, suggest improvements for the future and be in the running for a pretty awesome prize! Keep an eye on your emails from HDR Development in the coming weeks.
OGR Services over the break
Please note the that OGR will be closed from Monday 20 December, reopening Monday 10 January 2022. If you have any paperwork due during this period, please get in touch with the appropriate team before the 17 December to discuss. The College OGR Liaison service will also be postponed until February 2022. Please do not hesitate to contact the OGR should you require an appointment with a member of the team prior to February.
