No images? Click here Drummonds Jetty to be renewedDrummonds Jetty in Akaroa will be rebuilt as part of Christchurch City Council’s Marine Structures Renewal Programme. The renewed Drummonds Jetty will temporarily be used by commercial and recreational marine users while the main Akaroa Wharf is replaced. The 33m long jetty will be rebuilt in the same location, but with a few changes, including:
Two temporary floating pontoons will also be installed at the end of Drummonds Jetty to ensure there’s enough space to accommodate users while Akaroa Wharf is being upgraded, and to allow larger vessels to dock in deeper waters. Next steps Work is expected to get underway in 2024 and will be completed ahead of the Akaroa Wharf replacement project beginning.
