Spring Small Grants & Scholarships

Spring-time means that the annual small grants & scholarships for Limestone Coast communities are NOW OPEN.

GRANTS - Organisations are invited to apply for grants of up to $5000 for charitable projects. Application forms and further information is available from our website http://www.standlikestone.com.au/page.php?id=5 There is only one small grant round this year and this means that there are substantial amounts to grant. Applications close at 5.00pm on 30th September and can be lodged via email, post or in person at Stand Like Stone, 324 Commercial Street West, Mt Gambier.

SCHOLARSHIPS - We are also receiving scholarship applications for students with a connection to the Limestone Coast for study to be undertaken in 2018. Scholarships are available for recognised pre-school, primary, secondary or tertiary courses and are awarded on merit or for reasons of equity. Applications close at 5.00pm on 31st October. Details are available at http://www.standlikestone.com.au/page.php?id=43.

It's not too late, put a spring into your step and get thinking about your community's needs.

Arts & Trades based Grants & Scholarships

Thanks to the generous bequest of the late Lorry Humphreys, there are significant amounts available this grant round for projects to support & grow the Arts and Trades, as well as scholarship funding earmarked for those who are pursuing a Trade based career or a career in the Arts. Just apply through the normal channels, using the links listed above.

Bequests can make an immeasurable difference to our community. If you are interested in making a bequest to Stand Like Stone, please speak to your legal advisor or contact Stand Like Stone on 87210480 or info@standlikestone.com.au.

10th Anniversary Swinging Success!

There's been a lot of water under the bridge since June, but we still hold warm memories of the incredible 10th Anniversary of Swinging with the Stars! The night was a sellout with highlights including the return of the 9 previous winners who opened the evening’s celebrations with a cameo performance choreographed by Kim Cella of Hype Dance. Penola's Amanda Flint & partner Jordan Brennan were crowned winners of the 2017 Swinging with the Stars, with Grant Fensom receiving the People's Choice Award after raising a mammoth $45K!

The event raised over $140K for the Limestone Coast. These monies are held in trust for the region and invested. All income earned from this investment is then used to provide grants & scholarhips for the local community. Thanks must go to our amazing stars and their partners, who put on a fantastic show!

Thank you to Christy Radford from With Love Photography who so generously provides the photography free of charge for the event!

AGM to be held in November

Stand Like Stone's AGM will be held at 4.30pm on Wednesday 1st November at Caffe Belgiorno, 7 Percy Street, Mount Gambier. All individuals who are interested in the activities of Stand Like Stone are welcome to attend.

Tattoo on hold for 2017

After 6 years of running a very successful Limestone Coast Tattoo, the Executive Committee is taking the time to review and rethink the program for future years. As such there will be no Limestone Coast Tattoo held in 2017. We look forward to fresh ideas and a new face for the Tattoo in future years.

TOWER 24 HOUR

The Tower 24 Hour is an endurance event beginning at the iconic Mount Gambier railway lands following a 10km Valley Lakes & Centenary Tower loop circuit.

On 9/10 December, runners & walkers alike will be moving for 24 hours from the Reflexion Health & Fitness Studio checkpoint, in a team effort to raise much-needed money for local charitable projects. If you are interested in hearing more about the event, contact organiser Michael Mustart via email mmustart@bigpond.com and if you would like to make a donation to support these super-human efforts, please do so here! https://www.standlikestone.com.au/24-hour-tower-run/?id=168
