We’d like to remind you that the Remutaka Hill road will be closed for five nights from Sunday night 12 January to Friday morning 17 January, between 9pm and 4am each night.
If you have an urgent need to travel over the hill, a limited shuttle service is available. Please email us as soon as possible at remutaka@nzta.govt.nz
This is the second of three 5-night block closures; the third will happen in May. Having the road fully closed to traffic is critical to ensuring crew safety while they undertake essential maintenance and slip prevention works to make the road safer.
Already, we’ve seen a 95% reduction in the number of day time disruptions for road users. Night closures also enable better quality of maintenance work.
Please be assured, we’ll always provide access for emergency services during the closure.
