IndigiScapes News

Have you seen a wild deer on Redlands Coast?

You might be shocked to know that we have had confirmed sightings of feral deer in Redland City.

With the expansion of their populations, wild deer can cause damage to fences, vegetation and waterways, compete with native species for resources, and even spread disease to other animals.

Help us better understand where these deer are, what species we have, and whether we have any permanent local populations.

Record your recent or historical sightings of wild deer in Redland City on Deer Scan (preferred) or by phone 07 3829 8999.

Although Council has no official action planned,  we need your help to build our knowledge of whether wild deer present a biosecurity concern in our local government area.

Your contribution will not only help us protect our reserves for the future, but also keep the Redlands Coast naturally beautiful.

So, please keep your eyes peeled and let us know if you spot any wild deer.
