Thank you for your patience whilst we have been working on progressing The Strand Optimisation project along from concept design to the detailed design phase.

We very much appreciated all the feedback we received throughout the consultation on our proposed concept design.

The procurement of an external design consultant has taken longer than anticipated due to limited market resources. We have however, completed the procurement process and the design was awarded to Beca who are the consultant on board supporting us with this next phase of work. 

Over the last few weeks, surveying along The Strand has been progressing to look at incorporating the suggestions made from the feedback received, and will continue as per below:

1.	Pavement investigation work (September 2023)
2.	Topographical survey underway (September 2023)
3.	Preliminary design in progress (September - November 2023)

As we work through this phase of the project, we will have more information on the preliminary design to share with you in December 2023, leading into detailed design next year February 2024.
