New fund to create 'world's greenest sports industry' | Sport England Community sports clubs and physical activity groups looking to become more environmentally friendly and sustainable are being encouraged to apply to Sport England Movement Fund. Our updated eligibility guidance confirms up to £16 million, 10% of the £160 million available via the fund, will be reserved for green sports initiatives that help the sector respond to the impact of climate change. National Lottery Community Fund The Reaching Communities grant stream will prioritise projects which support places, people or communities experiencing poverty, disadvantage or discrimination, and which meaningfully involve communities in steering the project. All organisations applying will have to demonstrate how they plan to reach people who find it hardest to access support and clearly demonstrate how communities are involved in their project – including in the leadership of the organisation, participation, and voice. The fund aims to support organisations making positive changes in their community focusing on people living in the same area, or people with similar interests or life experiences, with grants starting at £20,001, for up to five years. The Big Bike Revival- Cycling UK Local volunteer-led groups, social enterprises, and other not-for-profit organisations can apply for grants of up to £3,500 to deliver cycling events to get people back on their bikes this summer. The Big Bike Revival Programme will support organisations across England to deliver a summer programme of activity that will encourage people who do not currently cycle regularly (once every two weeks or less) to consider either starting or returning to cycling. Tesco Stronger Starts The scheme is open to all schools, registered charities and not-for-profit organisations, with priority given to projects that provide food and support to young people. Community charity Groundwork manages and administers the funding across the UK. Deadline: Rolling programme Find out more: Home - Tesco Stronger Starts Ironmongers Charity Registered charities that work with disadvantaged children under the age of 25 are eligible to apply for grants of up to £10,000 The fund is particularly interested in projects that create opportunities for young people to truly reach their potential. That could mean educational activities that spark learning, boost motivation, or build crucial skills. This might include initiatives that support special educational needs, tackle behavioural challenges, or promote life skills, citizenship, and even parenting guidance. Deadline: Monday 30th June 2025. (upcoming) Find out more: Charities | Ironmongers' Company Angus Irvine Playing Fields Fund Grants will typically be in the range from £2.5k - £5k although a larger grant may be possible in some circumstances. The fund is available to local community groups and sports clubs (with priority given to sports clubs):Based in Greater Manchester, Oxfordshire, Greater London, or the West Midlands Combined Authority. Priority will be give to organisations/groups that are already supported by Access Sport. Applications can be made for grants towards some or all the following types of projects with the intention of growing capacity to reach more young people: > The development and improvement of playing fields and other facilities > The development and training of volunteers including the provision of qualifications > The purchase of specialist disability equipment > The development of long-term sustainability, for example marketing and finance expertise The organising, coaching and other key operational costs of running sports activities. Applications must focus on including young people (age 5 to 18 years old) who otherwise be excluded from sport such as: > Disadvantaged young people > Women and girls > Disabled children and young people > Young people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities.
