Whether your student is beginning summer term classes or taking a break from their studies, Carleton is here to support them.Important Dates and Deadlines Friday, May 17, 2024: Last day for registration and course changes (including auditing) for full summer courses. Monday, May 20, 2024: Statutory holiday. University closed. Friday, May 31, 2024: Last day to withdraw from full summer courses with a full fee adjustment (financial withdrawal). Welcome to the Summer Term! The first day of summer term classes is Monday, May 6, 2024. Whether your student is catching up or getting ahead on their degree, Carleton has resources to support their success. Celebrating Convocation with the Class of 2024 Carleton University will celebrate the accomplishments of 2024 graduates with in-person convocation ceremonies from Monday, June 17 to Friday, June 21, 2024. The complete ceremony schedule, along with information for graduates, is available on the Convocation website. Carleton Announces 17th President and Vice-Chancellor
Dr. Wisdom Tettey has been appointed Carleton University’s 17th President and Vice-Chancellor. Dr. Tettey joins Carleton from the University of Toronto, where he currently serves as a vice-president and has been principal of the Scarborough campus since 2018. Dr. Tettey will commence his five-year appointment as President and Vice-Chancellor effective Wednesday, January 1, 2025. An inclusive and authentic leader who will champion Carleton’s smart, caring community, Dr. Tettey will build on the university’s reputation for teaching, learning and research excellence. Celebrating Asian Heritage Month During Asian Heritage Month, Carleton is reflecting on and celebrating the diverse contributions of Asian Canadians. Getting Ready for Fall Registration As we enter the summer term, it’s a good time to make sure your student is ready for registration in the fall. Please visit the Current Students website for some tips to ensure your Raven is well-prepared. Some things to consider in advance of registration include: Changes of Program Elements, government funding applications, registration status and year level, account balance and class schedule. Fall/Winter 2024-2025 Class Schedule The fall/winter 2024-2025 class schedule and registration course planning tool will be available in Carleton Central (access by logging into Carleton360) on Monday, May 27, 2024. Registration begins on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 for new first year students and Tuesday, July 9, 2024 for returning students. Your Raven’s exact time-ticket will be available on Carleton Central approximately one week preceding the registration time period. If your student needs help with registration, the Student Registration Assistance team will be available throughout the summer, offering in-person, email and phone assistance to students, beginning Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Emergency Notification System Test on Thursday, May 9, 2024 A test of Carleton’s Emergency Notification System (ENS) will be conducted on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at approximately 11:15 a.m. This test will include three successive messages through each notification type: campus computer screen messages, emails sent out to all Carleton University addresses and push notifications through the Carleton Mobile app. This is a test of the ENS system, and no action is required. Everything Your Student Needs to Know About the Career Services Job Board The Career Services Job Board on mySuccess (accessed via Carleton360 from the Current Students website) is exclusive to the Carleton community and offers an array of job opportunities including full-time, part-time, new grad, co-op and more. The job board is a valuable tool that students can use to gain work experience and begin their career journeys. Visit the Current Students website for more tips and information about the job board, including how your student can tailor their job search to their needs.
