Ravens Championship Celebration

You're invited to attend a special Carleton community celebration marking a historic win for the men's basketball team! History was made earlier this month as the Carleton Ravens captured their 18th U SPORTS Men's Basketball National Championships — the most in Canadian university basketball history. Join the Carleton community on Tues. March 24, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Nicol Building lobby to celebrate this remarkable achievement.

Level Up Learning Week

Stop by the Teraanga Commons Dining Hall or Nideyinàn Food Court this week (Mon. March 23 to Fri. March 27, 2026) between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to learn about exam preparation strategies and study tips, ask questions about Carleton’s academic supports and exam preparation resources and play the “Raven’s Claw” machine game for your chance to win a prize to support your studying.

 

Innovative Eating Disorder and Substance Use Counsellor Model: Expanding Equitable, Scalable Campus Mental Health Care

Eating disorder and substance use supports will be expanded on campus as Carleton’s Health and Counselling Services has received grant funding. The project will introduce specialized counsellors, expand group supports and develop a new learning module with partners, including Waterstone, Rideauwood and Community Addictions Peer Support Association to help students access early, stigma-free support.

Braille Room Numbers on Classroom Signage

The Carleton Disability Awareness Centre is supporting a student-led initiative to add braille room numbers to classroom signage. Approved through existing accessibility and facilities processes, and in alignment with Carleton’s Coordinated Accessibility Strategy, the project improves wayfinding for blind and low-vision community members. Build and Recharge with LEGO

Take a break from your routine and get creative with a playful LEGO-based workshop designed to help you reset, recharge and think differently. You’ll build, experiment and explore new ways to communicate and problem-solve – all in a relaxed, low-pressure space. Visit the Future Learning Lab on Tues. March 31, 2026 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the fourth floor of the MacOdrum Library. Come alone or bring your friends — all students are welcome. Linguavision 2026

Linguavision, Carleton’s singing contest for language students, returns to the Kailash Mital Theatre in Southam Hall on Tues. March 31, 2026. Expect fresh faces, seasoned performers and songs in Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Spanish, along with a surprise from Carleton’s upper-year American Sign Language classes. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to all, no registration required.

 

Black Excellence Soirée

Join the Student Experience Office for an evening celebrating Black culture, creativity and community. The Black Excellence Soirée on Sat. March 28, 2026 brings together students, artists and community members for a night of music, spoken word, storytelling and meaningful connection. Guests will also enjoy a curated Afro-Caribbean dining experience, featuring authentic flavours reflecting the richness of Black culinary traditions.

 

Active Attacker “Run, Hide, Defend” Training Session

The Department of Risk Management is hosting an active attacker “run, hide, defend” training session on Thurs. March 26, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in 608 Pigiarvik. This practical, scenario‑based session teaches participants how to recognize threats, respond effectively and support emergency responders. Email emco@cunet.carleton.ca to register.

Staying Safe from Taxi Scams

Campus Safety Services is advising the community to remain vigilant about taxi scams. In these scams, an individual may ask for assistance paying a taxi fare using a debit or credit card, claiming the driver will not accept cash. In at least one reported incident, the vehicle involved displayed a taxi company roof sign. Visit the Campus Safety Services website to learn how to identify if a taxi is legitimate.
