Canterbury Golf News 2024 LAMB AND HAYWARD CANTERBURY STROKE PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP Another exciting edition of Canterbury’s premier golf action concluded earlier this month as the 2024 Canterbury Stroke Play lived up to expectations. Played at Christchurch Golf Club the players and spectators were treated to immaculate course conditions showcasing arguably one of the best courses in the region. Click below for the Final Day Highlights Video and the full overview CANTERBURY GOLF PRESIDENTS, SECRETARIES & CAPTAINS DAY The 2024 annual Presidents, Secretaries & Captains Day was delivered by Canterbury Golf at Harewood Golf Club on the 9th of February in what as always is a special day on the calendar. In all, there were 92 players in the field which included 36 club Captains (18 pairs), 23 Presidents, and 15 Secretaries/Club Managers all taking part as well as the many invited guests. Further from all those participants, 22 clubs across Canterbury were represented on the day which provides a fantastic opportunity for those important people within clubs an opportunity to mix, mingle, and connect with their counterparts in other clubs and celebrate our shared passion for the game of golf and the work that the clubs do. Read more - HERE. GOLF RULES COURSE IN 2024 The Canterbury Golf Referees Association (CGRA) is pleased to offer the Level 1 and 2 Rules Courses during March/April 2024. NZ HICKORY OPEN - FINAL WEEKS TO REGISTERThe 3rd NZ Hickory Open takes place next month including an exciting programme of Hickory events leading up to the main event. All enquiries and entries to: Registration closes on 29 February. 2023/2024 CANTERBURY GOLF ORDER OF MERIT (OOM) SEASON ROLLS ON With many Senior and Junior Order of Merit events taking place over January and February, the respective category tables are starting to take shape as players compete for points and an invite to the Tour Championship Final Event at Clearwater on 28 April. See below a snapshot of the Interclub action across Canterbury. 2024 CANTERBURY AGE GROUP CHAMPIONSHIPS The 2024 edition of the Canterbury Age Group Championships took place at Russley Golf Club in late January with over 50 juniors from across the region and neighbouring regions taking part. Individual honours were on the line as well as 7 club teams playing for the team prizes. BRINGING GOLF TO THE COMMUNITY Canterbury Golf was excited to again be a part of the Game On Canterbury event recently that took place at the new Christchurch Netball Centre. This was a free community event that featured a diverse and exciting range of sports and we were happy to showcase our SNAG Inflatable driving range and give kids a chance to try out golf.
