COVID-19 Update: Additional case identified at Calvary Cessnock household

I am writing to inform you that unfortunately there has been an additional positive case detected amongst residents of the Elrington household at Calvary Cessnock.

This brings the number of positive cases currently to three (3) residents. Staff are in contact with the residents' families and keeping them informed.

For the safety of residents and to help stop the spread of infections, the current restrictions remain in place and the residents are isolating and receiving all care in their rooms.

Our next round of resident testing (Day 3) is on Saturday 29 January. We are continuing to liaise with the Hunter New England Public Health Unit, and anticipate our next update to you will be at the weekend or as more information becomes available.

Although restrictions have been lifted for residents of the five other households in the Nulkaba group, all remain closed for general visitation until the Public Health Unit deems it safe to reopen.

As always, visitation exceptions can be made for residents receiving end of life care and for compassionate visits. Please contact the home manager to make arrangements.
