We're in the process of introducing permanent built form and design requirements for private developments in parts of Fitzroy and Collingwood.
These requirements will guide building heights, building design and how far developments must be set back from the road.

Next steps for Cambridge Street Reserve
Thanks to everyone who had a say on our draft concept plan for Cambridge Street Reserve. We received over 170 pieces of feedback from a diverse section of the local community. Now that the design has been finalised, we’re beginning a formal road discontinuance process for this section of Cambridge Street. You can make a submission on the road discontinuance as part of this process. Submissions must be received by Friday 14 October. Council will hear these submissions and decide on whether to proceed with the project in early 2023. |
Next steps for Otter Street Park
After two rounds of community consultation, we've finalised the design for a new park on Otter Street. In response to your feedback the final design includes more lawn space and less paving, with traffic improvement works planned in the area to help create a pedestrian friendly environment. With a final design, we're beginning a formal road discontinuance process to make room for the park. You can make a submission on the road discontinuance as part of this process. Submissions must be received by Friday 14 October. Council will hear these submissions and decide on whether to proceed with the project in late 2022. |
Project updates
Citizens Park Playground is now open!
Last year we asked for your feedback on how we can reinvigorate Richmond's Citizens Park playground. Your ideas helped us finalise the design and the upgraded playground is now open.
The main priorities for our community were:
- more challenging equipment
- retaining the swings and slides
- a natural design theme
Bring the kids along to swing, slide and climb at the playground while you relax among the trees and greenery.
