Please take our short survey on cancer screening. So far, lots of people have filled in our survey, but nearly all of them say they have never delayed attending cervical smear, breast or bowel screening. We know that, nationally, about one third of people don't attend their screening appointments. If you have ever put off going to screening, please consider filling in our survey! It is confidential and anonymous, and we won't judge anybody's responses. We want to understand the challenges people are facing, so we can help improve cancer screening in Barnet. 38% of cancer cases are preventable. Whether or not you attend screening, to close this gap, we need all of your views on how screening could be made better. Royal Free & North Mid TrustsA merger is being proposed between two NHS trusts in North London - the Royal Free and North Middlesex University Hospital. The Royal Free London group already includes Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital. The plans, which are subject to approval by both trusts’ boards and NHS England, would see North Mid become part of the Royal Free group. North Mid has been a clinical partner with the Royal Free group since 2017. The trusts say their partnership has already achieved benefits for patients and, as a larger group, they would be able to go further and faster in strengthening and improving their services. The BBC has published a piece setting out the advantages hoped for from the move, alongside comments from the CQC on the impact of the workload around the merger on North Mid's management. There are no plans to change the way routine local services are currently provided at North Mid, Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital and these will continue as normal. |
