MacOdrum Library InfoLibrary Support for Grad Students If you are looking to access help at any time, here is a general rundown of some of the spaces you can reach out to for support. There are a limited number of study spaces dedicated to Graduate Students located on the fifth floor, rooms 509, 510, and 537. These spaces are for single, silent study and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. GreenShield Student Health & Dental Plan
We are excited to introduce a new and improved way to manage your Student Health & Dental Plan. Beginning this year, all opt-in enrolments and opt-out requests will be completed through our new Student Benefits Portal. This new platform, in partnership with the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS) and Student First by Prosum, will deliver a simpler, more secure and convenient experience while giving you access to important information about your student benefits coverage, programs and services, all in one place. The Opt-In/Opt-Out Period is on now until Oct. 10. Click here

Mike's Place Pub Closure
The GSA regrets to inform the Carleton community that we will not be operating Mike’s Place Pub this academic year (Fall 2026 and Winter 2027) due to an ongoing financial deficit of the establishment. For more information about the closure, click here.

Health and Counselling ServicesHealth and Counselling Services provides a wide range of physical and mental health services to students. The on-campus clinic is staffed by a dedicated team including family physicians, counsellors, GP psychotherapists, psychiatrists, a lab technician and supportive administrative personnel. Online booking through Telus Health Connect is available for regular appointments and urgent care needs. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. |
Student Mental Health Resources and PolicyCarleton remains committed to supporting positive student mental health and well-being, recognizing that every student’s needs are unique and ever-changing. The Mental Health and Wellness website is a great place to find helpful information, resources and details about the programs, services and supports available to you. Carleton University’s Student Mental Health Policy was approved in October 2024 as required by the Strengthening Accountability and Student Supports Act, 2024. The policy outlines a campus-wide, inclusive approach to supporting student mental health and well-being and provides information on the programs, policies, services and supports available to students. |
Community Healing, Rebuilding and Belonging Consultation ReminderThe Community Healing, Rebuilding and Belonging Task Force is seeking community feedback as it works to identify what we can do collectively build a truly inclusive Carleton. A list of upcoming consultation sessions can be found online. Registration for general and focused sessions is now open. Participants for invite-only sessions will be contacted separately by their units. Feedback can also be provided by completing an anonymous online consultation form or emailing the Task Force co-chairs.

Human Rights PolicyCarleton’s Human Rights Policy was approved in January 2025, as required by the Strengthening Accountability and Student Supports Act, 2024. The policy ensures you are protected from discrimination and/or harassment and have the resources to support you when needed. The Human Rights Policy serves to affirm the human rights and dignity of every Carleton community member. Make a Formal Human Rights ComplaintIf you have experienced or witnessed a human rights incident, you can report it confidentially through the Department of Equity and Inclusive Communities (EIC) or by reaching out to one of the intake offices. You can also use EIC’s online form to submit an incident report anonymously. No matter how you choose to report, every situation is handled with fairness and care.

Launch of The Stories We Carry: Self, Scar, StruggleThe Stories We Carry brings together personal stories from across the Carleton community, with faculty, students, and alumni among the contributors. Faculty contributors include: Rena Bivens, Miranda Brady, Hannah Dick, Sheryl Hamilton, Karim Karim, Tracey Lauriault, and Merlyna Lim. Edited by Merlyna Lim and Kathy Dobson and published by Daraja Press, each story is told in the author’s own words, and accompanied by illustrations created for the book. The launch will take place at the Resource Centre on the fourth floor of Richcraft Hall on Friday, Sept. 18 from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. The book is available for pre-order here and copies of the book will be available at the launch with a 20% discount. |
