Ministerial announcement on tolling
As part of the Government to enable tolling to accelerate investment in roads announcement today, Minister of Transport Simeon Brown confirmed State Highway 19 (O Mahurangi – Penlink) will be tolled.
The toll will support the costs of maintaining and operating the new two-lane highway between Whangaparāoa Peninsula and State Highway 1 at Redvale.
O Mahurangi – Penlink was assessed for tolling and consulted on in 2022. The consultation was based on a scheme consisting of 3 tolling points. Post-consultation, 2 tolling points was proposed with an end-to-end toll rate of $3 peak and $2 off-peak for light vehicles and $6 peak and $4 off-peak for heavy vehicles.
