*New* Deadline to Submit Supervisor-Approved Thesis
The official calendar states that the last day for graduate students to submit their supervisor-approved thesis, in examinable form to the department is March 1, 2023. This deadline has now been changed to APRIL 1, 2023. Other Dates & Deadlines March 17-19, 2023
Early winter undergraduate deferred final examinations will be held. March 29, 2023
Last day for summative tests or examinations, or formative tests or examinations totaling more than 15% of the final grade, in full winter term or fall/winter undergraduate courses before the official April examination period (see examination regulations) in the General Regulations of the Graduate Calendar. April 1, 2023

New Graduate Diploma in Social Statistics and Data AnalysisCarleton is the first university in Canada to offer a graduate program in applied statistics aimed at social science audiences. The new Graduate Diploma in Social Statistics and Data Analysis (SSDA GDip) is available to both those currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program (Type 2) and those not currently enrolled at Carleton (Type 3), giving students and working professionals an opportunity to broaden proficiencies in quantitative research methods and social statistics. The SSDA GDip does not have a statistics course prerequisite.

Duncan McCue Joins Carleton’s Journalism Program Full-time to Create More Indigenous Storytelling
Duncan McCue, an award-winning CBC broadcaster and leading advocate for fostering the connection between journalism and Indigenous communities, is joining Carleton University’s School of Journalism and Communication. As an associate professor, specializing in Indigenous journalism and storytelling, McCue will also play a key role in working with
Carleton colleagues to launch a new journalism skills certificate on the ground in Indigenous communities.

Celiac Canada Offering Research Grants
Celiac Canada is currently offering up to $30,000 for research in the field of celiac disease and gluten sensitivity. Two grants are available – one main grant for up to $25,000 and a second for young investigators for up to $5,000. These grants are to support research projects in Canada of a scientific, applied science, and/or medical nature relevant to celiac disease, dermatitis herpetiformis, and/or non-celiac gluten sensitivity, or the socio-economic implications of delayed
