Innovative Koala Kids Storytime PAD Enhances Patient Experience in Albury Paediatric Ward
Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) proudly unveils the Koala Kids Storytime PAD, a revolutionary entertainment and learning device designed to enrich the hospital experience for young patients.
Mounted on a moveable trolley for accessibility along walls and tables, and overbed setups, the Koala Kids Storytime PAD offers a diverse range of educational and entertainment content in over 10 languages, specifically tailored for toddlers and primary school-age children.
Albury Wodonga Health Director of Midwifery and Nursing (Women’s and Children’s), Julie Wright said this initiative exemplifies our dedication to improving the hospital journey for our youngest patients.”

From Disney classics to ABC adventures, The Wiggles tunes, interactive maths activities and beloved stories, the Storytime PAD engages young minds in a safe and enriching way. This initiative aims to alleviate boredom and anxiety among children facing medical treatments, transforming their hospital stay into a positive and engaging experience.
Albury Wodonga Health, Nurse Unit Manager (Paediatrics), Joanna Owen said, "The Koala Kids Storytime PAD has been a fabulous addition to our ward. It provides a fun and distracting activity that a child and their family can enjoy in the playroom, and equally at the patient’s bedspace.”
