In the meantime, check out our newsletter to get some information on resurfacing concrete versus removing concrete, painting concrete (and why we don't recommend it), plus more! Resurfacing: Superior to Concrete Removal Do you have a damaged or outdated concrete surface that you're planning to remove? Concrete removal is an expensive, messy, time-consuming, and loud project. So if your surface is structurally sound, concrete resurfacing may be a better option. For example, at the Lexington Marriott at Griffin Gate in Lexington, KY, the property had more than 100 balconies in disrepair. Hotel management thought they'd have to remove everything and start from scratch, but SUNDEK National Accounts was able to repair and resurface the balconies, saving the hotel money and time—and providing a beautiful surface (shown above). Learn more why, in most cases, resurfacing concrete is a better option than replacing concrete. Wait...Before You Paint, Call Us! If you have a surface that needs color, it can be tempting to try to paint it yourself. Before you do, learn why painting concrete isn't a good idea and discover alternative options for sprucing up your surface. Sneak peek: Our coloring systems provide gorgeous color, and they last much longer than paint, too! Take this pool deck at this Aloft hotel in San Antonio, TX, for example (photo above). SUNDEK of San Antonio completed this artful installation using SUNDEK's Classic Texture and SunColor systems. Staining Is for Walls, Too Our personal "no painting concrete" principle also applies to vertical surfaces! Did you know that we can stain walls (among other vertical surfaces), giving them the color and style you're looking for? At this retirement community, ATD Concrete Coatings used SUNDEK’s SunAcid to transform a building into an eye-catching centerpiece in Downtown Dallas. See more of this project here. Our Knockdown Texture System If you've looked into resurfacing, you've probably heard of knockdown texture. Here at SUNDEK, our knockdown texture product, Classic Texture, is renowned in the industry. In fact, it's the product that helped launch our company more than 50 years ago. Shown above, SUNDEK of Washington applied Classic Texture in a multicolored pattern at a luxury apartment complex in Centreville, VA. Known for being easy to clean, cool to walk on with bare feet (even on hot days), and customizable to fit just about any design, it's one of our most popular products. Learn more here.
