VALE - BERYL SUTTON

It is with immense sadness we acknowledge the passing of Beryl Sutton.

We would firstly like to send our condolences to Beryl’s husband Frank and her family at this very difficult time.

Beryl has been the cornerstone of Busselton Horse and Pony Club forever. and has been an integral member of the Measuring Team for EWA running the measuring bay at Busselton.

There really are not enough words that can possibly recognise Beryl's endless kindness, generosity, commitment and dedication to not only Busselton Horse and Pony Club but a number of organisations in the South West.

The 15th and 16th of November saw our latest High Performance Dressage Clinic held here at the State Equestrian Centre.  The clinic was coached by Lone Jorgensen who, despite residing in Victoria, still provided a very enriching and enlightening experience to all who participated.  Interestingly, this was the first virtual clinic that Equestrian Western Australia has held for Dressage High Performance State Squad, utilizing the new PIXEM technology.  Equestrian WA would also like to thank Anna Latto who is Dressage HP Coordinator for all her great efforts and support before and during this clinic.

It was a fantastic event, and we look forward to holding more of these exciting clinics in the future.

COMPETITIVE EDGE

On Tuesday 16th of November, Equestrian WA held the very final session for the Competitive Edge element of the High Performance Department.

It was an honour and privilege for us to be able to host the legendary Andrew Hoy, who spoke about his vast experience, representing Australia in no less than eight Olympic Games, in which he won three Gold Medals, two Silver Medals and a Bronze, an Australian record.

We thank Andrew for gracing us with his presence and imparting his knowledge, and wealth of experience to our athletes, and we look forward to holding another series of Competitive Edge sessions in 2022.

Please Note - The General Purpose field is CLOSED due to some renovation of the grass. Apologies but this means at times surrounding arenas may also be closed as it is a safety concern with them using heavy machinery. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Keep an eye on the website and social media for updates.

STATE EQUESTRIAN CENTRE - SAFE WA QR REGISTER

Just a REMINDER that anyone attending the State Equestrian Centre will be required to register their contact details upon arrival to the facilities, from Saturday 5 December 2020.

Download the Safe WA app on your phone prior to arriving at the SEC and Scan the QR codes which will be at entrances around the buildings.

Get the app HERE

If you don’t have a mobile phone a manual form will be available.

From Saturday, 5 December 2020 the Western Australian Government will be implementing a stringent COVID-19 contact tracing procedure. This is in line with the State’s relaxation of the hard border policy.

Selected businesses and venues are required to keep a contact register of ALL visitors. This includes indoor sporting centres, entertainment venues and community facilities. Equestrian WA has sought clarification on equestrian venues and have been advised that most facilities will be required to participate in the mandatory “SafeWA” QR contract tracing register.

The same hygiene, social distancing and COVID Safety Plan measures remain in place for all venues. We have again reviewed and updated the following documents to support the gradual restart of the equestrian activities in WA.
