Redlands Coast Celebrates Small Business Month

May is Queensland Small Business Month and a chance to recognise and celebrate the achievements of small businesses across the city. Redland City Council in partnership with Queensland Government, Straddie Chamber of Commerce and Redlands Coast Chamber of Commerce, are pleased to invite small businesses to these free events:

Funding opportunities

Business Growth Fund - Round 6 launches

The Queensland Government's Business Growth Fund opens for expressions of interest Wednesday 1 May 2024, 9am and closes 14 May 2024, 5pm. Small and medium-sized businesses that employ 5-49 people (headcount) with high-growth plans are encouraged to review the funding guidelines.

This program offers grants of $50,000 to $75,000 to support the purchase of specialised equipment as a co-contribution with eligible businesses.

Business Chamber Queensland offers free online workshops and modules for businesses to learn how to attract and retain a wider range of employees in preparation for the future workforce.

Industry Workforce Advisors

The Queensland Governments' Industry Workforce Advisor program aims to provide workforce planning assistance to employers in small and medium sized businesses, enabling them to address workforce challenges, diversify their workforces, and support workforce growth. This may include identifying recruitment strategies to expand applicant pools and considering underrepresented groups.

Redlands Coast Small Business Hub

Redland City Council and the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training are providing businesses with free support and advice on:

Referrals to other agencies or organisations.

The Redlands Coast Hub operates from the Cleveland Library on the third Thursday of each month from 10am to 2pm.
