It is also a time to consider how stigma acts as a barrier to accessing resources and further isolates people from their communities. Career Fair for Women in STEM The Women in STEM Career and Networking Fair on November 23, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. is an in-person event on campus for women in STEM who want to establish and grow their professional network. Attend the event to speak with representatives who work at leading engineering and IT organizations. Participants will learn what these organizations do, learn about future employment opportunities and how to establish employability skills. ![]() SOAR 2024 – Keynote Speaker Announcement Carleton University’s tenth annual SOAR Student Leadership Conference will be held on campus on Saturday, January 20, 2024. Each year, this one-day conference at Carleton includes a keynote speaker, expert speakers, student leaders and panel presentations. Academic Advising Centre Brightspace Page The Academic Advising Centre (AAC) has launched a new Brightspace page for students to enhance student academic success and understanding of university rules and regulations. The page has 10 new videos on various topics, such as how to read your audit, understanding CGPAs, the First-Year Grading Policy and more. The Centre for Student Academic Support (CSAS) offers weekly support sessions on Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., focusing on applying and practicing select grammar points, syntax and vocabulary development into academic writing. Sessions are available in-person (fourth floor MacOdrum Library) or virtually (MS Teams). For more information, visit the CSAS website. CSAS Learning and Writing Support Workshops The Centre for Student Academic Success (CSAS) offers 19 learning and support workshops, all of which are available asynchronously on Brightspace. These workshops give students the opportunity to explore each topic at their own pace and throughout the entire year. You can self-enrol in these courses on the CSAS website.
