Dear EOA Subscriber, We are excited to announce the EOA Summer Party, the first in-person Employee Ownership Australia event since 2019, with an exceptional line-up of speakers and the opportunity to connect in person over drinks with fellow employee equity experts, professionals and enthusiasts. Join us after work in Melbourne on Tuesday, November 26th or in Sydney on Thursday, November 28th for refreshments and speaker sessions – an update on EOA’s activities and the global context, a panel exploring Australia’s place in the
GEO Global Share Plans Ranking Study (and how we can beat New Zealand next year), and a panel looking at some of the current hot topics and trends for Australian issuers. Sessions will kick off at 5.30pm and will be followed by drinks, canapes, mingling and industry chat. Speakers include: - Graeme Nuttall OBE, a world leader in the field. Graeme is best known for his foundational work in creating the UK’s employee ownership policy framework, which has seen extraordinary success in the past decade and influenced progress in an ever-growing
list of nations including Canada, the USA, Ireland and Denmark. He’s working on Australia!
- Andrew Clements, chair of the Employee Ownership Australia board and a passionate advocate who has been involved in EO tax and legal issues in Australia for several decades. Andrew has worked extensively in this area with both listed and unlisted entities as well as government and regulatory bodies.
- Shaun Cartoon (Tax Partner) and Eileen Liu (Lawyer) from renowned Australian law firm Arnold Bloch Leibler. Shaun and Eileen were heavily involved in the groundbreaking Global Share Plans Ranking Study and are recognised locally as leading advisers in share plans for Australian companies.
- Hannah Needle FGE (Director) and Jess Mitchell (Australia Lead) from Tapestry Compliance, a UK-based law firm owned entirely by its employees. Tapestry specialises in legal and tax compliance for global employee equity plans and has been ranked in the top tier of both UK legal directories for many years.
- Marc Bosotti, Global Employee Equity Lead (APAC) at Vialto Partners and Sonia Kew, Director in the Reward Advisory Services team at PwC. Marc and Sonia
each bring over 20 years of experience advising organisations on employee equity matters in Australia and abroad, including reward, compensation and performance, global mobility and corporate tax.
- Both panels will also involve leading employee equity professionals from Australian issuer companies with local and international plans, including Joanna Mak (Director, Reward, APAC & IMETA and Global Share Plans Lead at Brambles) and Sarah Tinsley (General Counsel and Company Secretary at Culture Amp).
