Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope that you have enjoyed the Long Weekend and are refreshed and ready for the last few weeks before the Easter holidays.
Thank you Sean Hemeter! - Sincere thanks to Sean (Dad of Charlie Year 1) for giving up time from his weekend to complete some much needed jobs around the school. Sean replaced the art room door, fixed the eaves on part of the admin area to keep birds out of the roof and installed some door catches.
Regional Swimming - Congratulations to Kadey Macklin, Matilda Riddle, Lily Asquith and Macey Watson for the mature way they represented our school at the Regional Swimming Carnival at Shepparton last week. The girls had a fabulous positive attitude and were respectful to everyone. Well done girls, we are proud of you!
Year 6 Leadership Days - Today, our year 6 students took part in a Leadership Retreat here at school. The students attended seminars with Mrs Frewen, Mr Maher, Nic Asquith and myself, and enjoyed a special lunch.
On Friday, our year 6 students will travel to FCJ College Benalla, to take part in a year 6 Leadership Day with St Joseph’s Benalla and St Mary’s Mansfield. The students will take part in workshops, one of which will be lead by the FCJ Social Justice students. We hope these days help our year 6 students to blossom into confident and positive role models in our community.              Sacramental Program - Mrs Frewen will begin the Sacramental Program with students on Thursday afternoon at about 2pm. Parents are invited to a quick meeting following the session at 3.15pm here at school.
Bluearth Golf Day - Next Friday, Bluearth will be hosting a Golf Day, with the proceeds from the day subsidising the cost of the Bluearth Program in our school. The guest speaker for the day will be philanthropist and Bluearth founder Graeme Freak. There are a few tickets left, so please contact Jimmy Ivill jivill@bluearth.org if you would like to take part in the day. Thank you to Jimmy Ivill (our Bluearth coach) for organising this event for us.                          Family Sports Night - Due to COVID restrictions, the Family Sports night that was planned for the 26 th March has unfortunately been cancelled. We were hoping that restrictions may have allowed for this event to go ahead but unfortunately not.

Have a great week!
Libby Hamilton

Week 7 Prayer

3rd Sunday of Lent.                                                                       John 3:16

‘God loved the world so much, he gave his only Son, that all who believe in him might have eternal life.’

May the mercy of Christ be the cloak I wear.
May the kindness of Christ be my life’s seasoning. May the humility of Christ be the path of my life. May the meekness of Christ permeate my being. May the patience of Christ be at home in me.
May the forgiveness of Christ flow out of my heart. May the love of Christ wrap me ‘round.
May the peace of Christ reign in my heart.
May the gratitude of Christ be my soul’s song.
May the wisdom of Christ be my teacher.
May the Word of Christ be my heart’s true home. Amen.

Jump Rope for Heart will run in PE classes from now until the end of term!

Jump Rope for Heart is a fantastic physical activity and fundraising program that has been run by the Heart Foundation for over 36 years. It’s a great way for your child to keep fit and learn new skills, but it also helps raise funds for vital heart research and education programs.

It is OPTIONAL for you to register your child on line.

We understand that not everyone is in a position to raise funds. There are some prizes for students who would like to raise money online, but there is no expectation for any child to do this. If you want to support the Heart Foundation, simply follow the link below to get started. www.jumprope.org.au/parents
