Your September MOC Update

Sonnya Dennis, DVM, DABVP (Canine & Feline Practice), MOC Chair

Did you just complete MOC? Remember, you must complete Maintenance of Certification every ten years. While it is important to keep up, especially with Journal Club, please do not start uploading applications until after your new cycle begins. Look at your cycle dates carefully, especially if you “renewed” early! If it happened outside your cycle date, it will not count in your current cycle. Find your dates in Prolydian here:

or here:

Additionally, a step-by-step illustration of How to Find Your MOC Cycle Start and End Dates is available in our how-to guides.

Hispanic Heritage Month and Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

During Hispanic Heritage Month and Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, we are proud to recognize the vital contributions of the Latinx Veterinary Medical Association (Latinx VMA) and the Veterinary Hope Foundation. The Latinx VMA is dedicated to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within veterinary medicine while empowering Latinx veterinary professionals and students. At the same time, the Veterinary Hope Foundation works to support the mental health and well-being of veterinarians through education, resources, and hope-centered initiatives. Together, these organizations reflect the values of representation, resilience, and compassion—reminding us that caring for our colleagues is just as important as caring for our patients.

ABVP Foundation Update

Jerry Rusch, DVM, DABVP (Beef Cattle), Outreach Chair

The ABVP Foundation's focus is raising money to fund expenses for
students to attend the annual Symposium. For 2025, we have raised
$10,000 of our $20,000 fundraising goal. To help us achieve our goal,
please donate by using the QR code below. We are a 501c3 entity, so
donations are tax deductible. We were able to send 7 student fellows to the
2025 Symposium in San Antonio. Our goal for 2026 is to fund 10 fellows.

Like last year at Symposium, we will be having another silent auction at the
2026 Boston Symposium. If you have something you would like to donate,
please contact Chris Griffin, Jerry Rusch, Raj Singh, Gary Thompson or Nik
Weber
