Small Property Course

Do you have a 2–20 hectare property with grazing animals? Would you like to grow more feed on your land and rely less on bought-in feed? This course is for you.


Learn how to improve soil health, pasture productivity and animal wellbeing. The cost is $75, which includes an individualised property visit. The course will be held in Gisborne, beginning in May.  Please fill out the EOI to receive an offer for a spot.

Honours Research on Regen Ag Adoption

The study is all about understanding how landholders move from being interested in Regenerative Agriculture to actually putting these practices into action on their farms after attending workshops, field days, or other council- or catchment-led programs. Using a qualitative approach, with a short online survey and one-on-one interviews to hear directly from landholders about what motivates them, what helps them, and what barriers they face.

VFF Stock Sense - Learn how to install, maintain and repair fences

The Victorian Farmers Federation is running a practical, on-farm workshop with two skilled fencing contractors sharing their knowledge. Learn how to install new fencing and maintain and repair existing ones, as well as how fencing relates to good biosecurity. 20 March, Daylesford.  Spots are FULL.

Know Your Trees – A Tree ID Walk at Baynton

The Baynton Sidonia Landcare Group is holding a Tree Walk with tree enthusiast and sawmiller Peter Stone. Peter will show participants how to ID our commonest trees on local granite, basalt and sedimentary soils. Peter will explain where in the landscape trees prefer to grow, how to plan for plantings, the importance of planting understorey as well as some of the different reasons for planting on farms, such as providing shade/shelter to stock and soil erosion prevention.

From AgVic a nice little practical video that constructing a sediment trap for dams. It focuses on after fire but can be used on any dam by using damaged ringlock/higelock/netting and steel posts that can be repurposed to become a valuable resource to construct sediment traps.
