Speaking on behalf of the league's Board of Directors, let me say we are so excited for the opening of the West Hartford Girls Basketball League's (WHGBL) 2024-2025 season!  Women's basketball is continuing to grow and whether it's at the WNBA, the Women's National Olympic Team, college or high school hoops or  local town recreational league level, the sport is seeing a tremendous surge in popularity and growth! It's an undisputed fact that young ladies who play and understand the fundamentals of basketball, learn critical skills that help empower them to become respected leaders in the future.

We wanted to let you know that you will be able to register your daughter for the upcoming WHGBL season beginning on Monday, September 16.

Registration is $150 per player, which covers many things such as uniform costs, equipment costs, insurance, league operations and game officials costs.

The WHGBL is a teaching league dedicated to teaching young girls leadership skills through understanding the fundamentals of basketball.  Our league focuses on ten Leadership Core Values, which are:  Confidence, Teamwork, Sportsmanship, Humility, Character, Respect, Integrity, Responsibility, Perseverance, and Gratitude.

Before registering your daughter, its a good idea to visit our website and read all of the information about our league.  Please be sure to pay special attention to the "Parents Info" drop down menu where you'll see the "Parents Handbook" section.  The Parents Handbook contains important information like eligibility rules, team assignment rules, important dates to remember, access to game rules, the league's Spectator Code of Conduct, emergency and player safety information, as well as other vital items of interest.

Also, don't forget to check out our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section under the "About" menu of the website.  We've compiled this list over many years of receiving common questions from parents.  So, if you have a question, chances are, the answer is in the FAQs section.
