SH20B Early Improvements

This email is to provide you with an update on the 20Connect project and the proposed early improvements to State Highway 20B (SH20B) planned to start later this year and completed by 2021.
We have developed a detailed design for a number of improvements that improve safety, support public transport, cater for pedestrians and cyclists and improve access to growth areas adjacent to the state highways.
The design of planned early improvements along SH20B between Pukaki Creek Bridge and SH20 include:

safety improvements including central median barrier protection, improved lighting and a reduced speed

improved walking and cycling facilities, pavement, drainage and stormwater treatment

two new intersections - at Campana Road to allow for future development south of the state highway, and at Manukau Memorial Gardens to improve safety
-
priority lanes to allow new frequent bus services between the airport, Puhinui bus/train interchange and Manukau.
