Welcome to PHINS!

Hello Thuyvi!!

This is Ava and Sam! We are so excited to welcome you to the PHINS team for 2022. We hope you are excited, we sure are!! 

Currently, you are a PHINS in training pending your conduct check. But don't stress, you will be notified if your conduct check has been seriously flagged and we can talk about your options from there!

In this email, we will provide information regarding training, move-in, and communications for NSO! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out! 

Some important dates to keep in mind:

• For PHINS, move-in will be on Sunday, August 21, and there will be in-person training on Monday, August 22.
• NSO Student move-in will span from Tuesday, August 23, to Wednesday, August 24
• Traditional NSO will run from Wednesday, August 24 to Monday, August 29.

Most importantly, as PHINS leaders, you are responsible for having in-person availability throughout NSO until August 29.  

PHINS Training 

Virtual Training

In this virtual training session, we will be sharing information regarding NSO, how to work canvas, and interact with your PHINS groups in a virtual environment. The first training session will be held virtually on July 28th, 2022 at 6:00 pm EST.  Below is the recording of this session, please review it. 

In-Person Training

The required in-person training will be held on Monday, August 22, 2022. At this training PHINS shirts, nametags, and merch will be distributed out. 

Conflict Form

As PHINS leader, you are required to attend/lead 3 mandatory PHINS group activities. Please keep the following time slots free in your calendar:

• Thursday, August 25th from 10 am to 3 pm
• Friday, August 26th 9 am to 5 pm
• Sunday, August 28th 10 am to 3 pm.

However, if you already have any extraneous circumstances preventing you from volunteer for the following events, please fill out the conflict form using the button labeled "Conflict Form" below.

*Please note for that your shift will be specific times between these periods and not the whole time slot.- the time slots are pre-assigned.  
 

Move-In

PHINS are welcome to move-in on Sunday, August 21, 2022. By moving in on Sunday, you will be able to take part in the mandatory in-person PHINS training on Monday, August 22.

For registering for move-in, you do NOT have to register through the STARes portal. Our office will handle registering you in for early move-in slot. There are no fees associated with the early move-in for PHINS. Our office covers ALL COSTS of early move-in.
