SH2 Remutaka Hill April closure |

The SH2 Remutaka Hill will close for 1 night on Sunday 19 April, 9pm to 4am. We are completing routine maintenance during this closure. Escorted crossings We are able to escort drivers over the hill at certain times during the closure. Bookings can be made online here: Remutaka Hill Closure Escort Booking Form Book in advance by 4pm on Friday for the Sunday 19 April closure. Please arrive 15 minutes early at the closure point. You will receive a booking confirmation with the key information prior to your crossing. This is not automated, so please allow some time for this confirmation to come through. Please be patient - the crossings will be slow for everyone's safety. Numbers are strictly limited and vehicles turning up without a booking risk being turned away, or having to wait at the closure point for the next opportunity. Access will be available for 'flashing light' emergency services throughout the closure. Road crews can complete a large amount of work safely during these closures, because multiple crews can work across the hill at the same time without disrupting traffic.
