After months of preparation, prayer and practical support, members of St John’s Lutheran Church Unley in suburban Adelaide have welcomed a Somali family through a refugee support program. Their story reflects God’s love in action – a love also shared through ALWS' support of vulnerable refugee girls in Somalia. Read more
As the end of the financial year approaches, there are several opportunities to support the work of the LCANZ through a tax-deductible gift. From equipping future pastors and preserving our Lutheran story to sharing the gospel and supporting people in need, many of these ministries are sustained through the generosity of our church. Ordained 30 January 1966 (Woorak Vic); served Alice Springs NT (1966–1968), Hope Vale Qld (1968–1975), Kalbar Qld (1975–1988), Sunshine Coast Parish Qld (1988–1994), Albany WA (1994–1999); retired 30 May 1999; died 7 June 2026; funeral 17 June 2026 (Harvest Point Church, Gleneagle Qld); mourned by children Carolyn, Mark, Joy, Verena and Steven, and families

LCA congregations in Australia are invited to take part in the five-yearly National Church Life Survey. The LCA has participated since the survey began and fully funds participation, meaning there is no financial cost for parishes or congregations. The survey period runs from August to October 2026.
