Summer is a busy season for facility work, and our team has been hard at work keeping projects moving while also creating space for connection, learning, and a little fun along the way.
Our Northern California team helped cut the ribbon on a brand-new playground at Gilroy Prep. We welcomed the Construction Industry Workforce Initiative (CIWI) college interns for site visits and learning sessions and our high school summer interns are also wrapping up their two-week program. And we welcomed a new member to the Blueprint team—Kelly Wilcox!

A Joyful Ribbon Cutting at Navigator Gilroy Prep
We’re thrilled to share that the new TK/K playground at Navigator Gilroy Prep School is officially open! After passing final inspection, the school celebrated with a small ribbon cutting joined by excited students. This joyful milestone is part of a larger campus project that includes new TK and Kindergarten classrooms, a recreational changing room, admin building, redesigned parking lot, and offsite improvements. These updates support Gilroy Prep’s continued growth and create a more welcoming, functional space for their youngest learners.

CIWI College Interns Visit Blueprint in Oakland
This month, we welcomed college interns from the Construction Industry and Workforce Initiative (CIWI) for a behind-the-scenes look at charter school facilities in action. The group visited project sites at Lighthouse Community Public Schools and Education for Change’s Cox Academy, exploring everything from modular classrooms to phased construction on shared, occupied campuses. Thanks to our partners at Bjork Construction and LCA Architects for joining us—and to the CIWI interns for their thoughtful questions and curiosity!
Summer Interns Wrap Up Their 2-Week Journey
Our high school summer interns are finishing up an incredible two weeks at Blueprint! They've had the opportunity to connect with 40 professionals, from the Blueprint team and board to our trusted partners—architects, general contractors, bankers, auditors, and public finance experts. This hands-on exposure has given them a deeper understanding of the real estate development world and how we work together to support charter schools. We’re excited to see what these bright minds will take away from this experience!

Welcome to Kelly Wilcox
We are excited to welcome the newest member of the Blueprint team, Kelly Wilcox, our Senior Project Manager, Colorado, and our second hire in the state. Kelly brings over a decade of experience leading public projects in Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and Portland. As an owner’s rep, she managed community-serving projects like parks, libraries, and schools for public agencies, including Saint Paul Public Schools and the cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
