The Government has today announced decisions on the New Zealand Upgrade Programme, which includes the SH1 Papakura to Drury South project.
The announcement has confirmed full delivery of Stage 1 of the Papakura to Drury South project between Papakura and Drury interchanges (including both interchanges). Construction recently began on Stage 1 in April 2021.
However, Stage 2 of the project (from the south side of Drury interchange, down to and including the new Drury South interchange) will not be progressed as part of the NZ Upgrade Programme.
It will some take time for Waka Kotahi to work through the implications and next steps in relation to Stage 2 of the project, but we will continue to work with potentially affected landowners as we establish what this means for them.
