CAMDEN COMMUNITY WEALTH FUND: DIGGING DEEPER
The Camden Community Wealth Fund, developed with UCL’s Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP), explores how to keep that value in the community. This “innovative finance vehicle” aims to reinvest in local people and places, combining wealth creation with fair distribution (especially critical in a borough where nearly 40% of children lived in poverty before the pandemic). The fund is part of a growing global movement to rethink how public finance works – putting power back in the hands of local citizens. Read UCL’s full policy report about the theory of the fund here.
