Traffic impact report

Intended programme: week commencing 21 July 2024

People travelling between Baypark and Bayfair will continue to see several overnight road and lane closures, and associated detours. Closures and detours will vary night to night, depending on site requirements and progress, and people are asked to allow extra time, follow signposted detours and drive with caution through the project site.

In the week commencing Sunday 21 July, various overnight road and/or lane closures will be required for final line marking.

Night closures and detours:

  • From Sunday 21 July to Monday 22 July (from approximately 7pm to 5am), Maunganui Road southbound (from Concord Avenue to Matapihi/Girven roundabout) will be closed to allow for the removal of temporary barriers.  A detour via Concord Ave, Paterson St, Girven Road and Bayfair roundabout will apply for all vehicles.
  • On Sunday 21 July (from approximately 7pm to 12am), Truman Lane eastbound between SH29A roundabout and Baypark will be closed. A signposted detour via SH2/SH29A Te Maunga interchange, Tauranga Eastern Link, Sandhurst interchange and Mangatawa Link Road will apply for all vehicles.
  • On Sunday 21 July (from approximately 12am to 5am), Truman Lane westbound between Baypark and SH29A roundabout will be closed. A signposted detour via Truman Lane, Mangatawa Link Road, Sandhurst Interchange, SH2, SH2/SH29A Te Maunga interchange, and SH29A roundabout will apply for all vehicles.
  • On Monday 22 July (from approximately 7pm to 5am), SH2 northbound will be closed at SH2/SH29A Te Maunga interchange. A signposted detour via Te Maunga interchange, Maunganui Road northbound, Bayfair roundabout will apply for all vehicles.
  • On Tuesday 23 July (from approximately 7pm to 5am), SH2 southbound will be closed at Concord Ave. A signposted detour via Maunganui Road southbound, Bayfair roundabout, Maunganui Road southbound, SH2/SH29A Te Maunga interchange, and SH2 southbound will apply for all vehicles.

In the coming weeks, daytime lane closures during off-peak hours will be required across the project site for surface inspections.
