Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident or Family Member,

COVID-19 Update for residents & families of Calvary Millward

Further to our recent communication, I am writing to let you know that no further positive COVID-19 cases have been identified from the round of testing conducted with residents on 19 January 2022.

After recent discussions with the Public Health Unit, we can now confirm that the next round of resident testing at Calvary Millward will occur in the coming days. High demand for community testing continues, so we are not able to confirm a timeframe for when we will receive results.

The Local Public Health Unit has advised that all residents residing at Millward who are no longer in isolation may receive visitors. Both Koonung and Werona are COVID free. Grandview, Parkview and Orchard have a number of COVID positive residents isolating in their rooms.

Where visitation is accepted, one single nominated visitor will be permitted per resident during the home’s visiting hours, due to the heightened risk of infection and community transmission. This will be in place until further notice.

Visitation exceptions for isolating residents may be made for residents receiving end of life care, or who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the Manager of your Home to discuss arrangements.

We will update you again as soon as any information becomes available. Our next update to residents and families will be following the next round of testing.

We thank residents and families for your continued support and understanding during this challenging time. You can help us by sharing this information with your family and friends.

Yours sincerely,

Sharon MartindaleGeneral Manager Aged Care
