Kia ora and welcome

Welcome to this week’s Northland state highway maintenance roadworks update.

In this e-newsletter, we share updates on maintenance and renewal roadworks across the state highway network from Topuni to Te Reinga Wairua (Cape Reinga).

We hope you and your whānau stayed safe during the heavy rain over the past week. Our crews were out responding to slips, fallen trees, flooding and other weather-related impacts across the region. A big thank you to everyone who travelled with care, and to the teams who worked through challenging conditions to keep the network moving.

We will continue inspections across the region and attend to debris, drainage issues and pavement repairs as they arise. Contractors may be working on or near the road in multiple locations, so please slow down through work sites and follow their directions.

Northland/Auckland Anniversary Weekend roadworks pause

Roadworks will pause over Anniversary Weekend, unless a dispensation has been granted. Contractors will shut down sites from midday Friday 23 January, returning early morning Tuesday 27 January. Some long-term sites may have ongoing restrictions in place.

Note: Due to wet weather, road rebuild work will continue on SH10 near Oromāhoe road over the long weekend. A full road closure will remain in place from 7am to 7pm each day, reopening at night.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we carry out essential maintenance across the region to keep Northland’s roads safe and accessible for everyone.
