Enabling works | Ngā whakaritenga
The team will be back on site during KiwiRail's full rail shutdown over the school holidays running from 12-27 April to complete the enabling works which began in December 2024.
These works are to prepare the site for construction of the Waihoehoe Road upgrade project later this year and provide a safe work area for the construction crew near the rail tracks while minimising impact to the rail network.
As the bulk of enabling work was completed over the summer months, we only need to install the final panels of the eastern hoarding wall with some minor earthworks where required.
Some construction noise and disruption from heavy vehicles and equipment will be present but not to the same extent as earlier in the year.
