Waihoehoe Road upgrade

20 August 2025

Project newsletter | He pānui

We are pleased to bring you this Waihoehoe Road upgrade project newsletter.  This issue includes an update on construction and information about the upcoming community day on Saturday 23 August.

Construction update | Mahi hangatanga

We’ll be getting ready from mid-December to start the initial piling works for the new and higher Waihoehoe Road bridge in early January 2026.

There will be some impact to parking availability along Tui Street during this time, but not to the same extent it was during the enabling works earlier in the year. You will still be able to access community facilities such as the Drury Hall, Library, and Domain. Noise levels will be increased while piling works are taking place.

Drury Village shops | Nga toa kia Drury

We’ve been able to offer a lease extension to the various shops at 232 Great South Road to continue trading until 31 December 2025. Accepting this extension is at the discretion of each business, as some may wish to finish earlier.
