On Saturday, more than 870 people sent a bright message of hope from Brisbane to children and families displaced by war in Ukraine. Walkers and runners stepped out in the ALWS Walk My Way Ukraine event, which – thanks to the help of participants, volunteers, sponsors and other supporters – has so far raised more than $175,000. But it was anything but an ordinary day at the beach for the Bruning family, who were about to be baptised in front of friends and members of their church family of Faith Lutheran Warradale. Read more Mission leaders and practitioners met in Sydney last month to work out how to pool their expertise, experience and resources to reinvigorate mission culture in the LCANZ. Appointment to these governance bodies is for a synodical term. Governance body members who wish to continue in their role also need to submit a nomination before 30 June 2024. The LCANZ is calling for responses to the Religion and domestic violence: Exploring men’s perpetration report. A response document, available for download here, is structured to guide respondents through the report. Responses close on 31 May 2024. All submissions will be treated confidentially. General Synod delegate updates and nominations reminder With the LCANZ Convention of General Synod now less than five months away, it’s time to check that your congregation and delegate/s are up to date with preparations for this important churchwide event. It is also time to submit nominations for positions on the church’s boards, councils, commissions and committees, which must be done by 30 June.
Congregations and agencies of the LCANZ may advertise events or programs for a fee of $80 for one eNews bulletin or $100 for two. We can accept up to 40 words.
