Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident or Family Member,

COVID-19 Update for Residents and Families: Calvary Tanilba Shores set to re-open from tomorrow

We are very pleased to let you know that the latest round of testing at Calvary Tanilba Shores has revealed no additional cases of COVID-19 amongst residents or staff. In line with Public Health Unit advice, the outbreak at Calvary Tanilba Shores has been declared over, and Calvary Tanilba Shores will re-open to visitors from tomorrow 2 February 2022.

Current restrictions at the home can be lifted, residents can move freely within the home effective immediately, and we can re-open to visitors from tomorrow subject to the below guidelines.

Guidelines for visitors

• In line with Calvary’s recent visitor update of 29 December 2021, one single nominated visitor only will be permitted per resident during the home’s visiting hours. This is due to the continuing heightened risk of infection and will be in place until further notice.
• Each family should nominate the visitor and notify the home manager of who this person is. The visitor is strongly encouraged to have obtained a booster vaccine if they are eligible.
• Visitor entry to the home is between 11.00AM and 3:30PM. If visitors need to attend outside these hours, they will need to book ahead of time. Please make prior arrangements with the home manager – contact 49845922 during business hours. Once in the home, visitors may stay longer.
• The nominated visitor is required to complete screening requirements prior to entry.
• As a precaution to keeping residents safe, visitors will be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home. This takes time, and we ask for your patience as we manage this important screening process.
• Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, residents who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the home manager to discuss arrangements.
• At present, resident outings will be limited to medical appointments only.

Our staff will continue to closely monitor all residents for symptoms of COVID-19.

Thank you to our residents for your cooperation during this recent exposure period. To our families, we are grateful that you continue to work with us so generously to ensure the safety of your loved ones in our care, and we look forward to receiving visitors back into the home.

Sincerely,

Sandeep Kandel

General Manager, Aged Care.
