Local Studies: Nosey Bob, an Uncommon Hangman
One of Bondi's most infamous residents, Nosey Bob was the State's first salaried hangman. Born in England, Robert Howard emigrated to Australia in 1861 and became a successful cabman with a very profitable clientele in Darling Point. The story goes that Howard earned the moniker Nosey Bob after being kicked in the face and suffering permanent disfigurement.

We will chart the process from making a financial hardship application to the bank to default, repossession, and eviction. We will explain the options for homeowners at each stage of this process and where they can go to get help.
