Most Americans Engage with Christian Media, NRB and Barna Report

In a culture increasingly defined by media saturation, Christian content is not only surviving; it is thriving. The National Religious Broadcasters (NRB), in partnership with Barna Group, conducted a landmark study on the state of Christian media (CM) in the United States. The findings, drawn from a nationally representative sample of over 2,000 U.S. adults in early 2025, reveal a media ecosystem that is both expansive and deeply personal—one that is shaping lives, households, and even elections.

This article marks the first in a series unpacking key insights from the study. Over the next several weeks, we’ll explore how Christian media is influencing American culture, who is engaging with it, and what this means for the future of faith-driven content.

A full version of the report will be available exclusively for NRB members to download.

“Pour Out to the God of Hope and Be Filled:” 74th Annual Observance of the National Day of Prayer

On Thursday, May 1, 2025, millions of Americans will join hearts and voices for the 74th annual National Day of Prayer, rallying under the bold theme: “Pour Out to the God of Hope and Be Filled.” This year’s observance promises to be a powerful expression of united prayer, as gatherings stretch across the country and the world—culminating in a nationally televised and streamed broadcast at 8:00 p.m. ET.

At the heart of this year’s call to prayer is Romans 15:13: “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

This verse, chosen by Kathy Branzell, National Day of Prayer Task Force president, arose out of a season of deep intercession.
