Please find below the schedule for upcoming night-time road closures for essential maintenance on SH2 over the Remutaka Hill. All roadworks are subject to weather and other factors and may be cancelled or postponed at late notice.
Week 1: 5 nights 9pm-4am starting Sunday night 15 May, finishing 4am Friday morning 20 May
Week 2: 5 nights 9pm-4am starting Sunday night 22 May, finishing 4am Friday morning 27 May

We will email you if there are any major changes to the Remutaka Hill nightworks schedule.
Please also note: The Department of Conservation is conducting a feral goat control operation that will require a one-hour daytime closure of the Remutaka Hill on four days between 9.30am and 10.30am. This is currently set down for Monday to Thursday 2 May-5 May. The operation is highly dependent on weather conditions and may be postponed at short notice to a later date in May.
