Celebrating 2024

It was a big year for Western, filled with achievements worth celebrating. As the year comes to a close, Western News reflects on the highlights by showcasing a milestone from each month of 2024.

Western makes Forbes diversity list

Western has been ranked as one of Canada’s Best Employers for Diversity for 2024 by Forbes. The list recognizes organizations “excelling in creating diverse, equitable and inclusive workplaces,” based on analysis of their policies and interviews with 40,000 employees at 1,200 companies across the country.

Indonesian students foster global citizenship

This past term, Western hosted recipients of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Award, a full scholarship from the Indonesian Ministry of Education that funds high-achieving students at more than 100 host universities worldwide.

Local government program turns 50

Western's local government program is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a commemorative book to honour its legacy as Canada's only graduate public administration program of its kind.

Preparing campus buildings for the holiday break
Please remember to close office and classroom windows before you leave campus for the holiday break. This helps conserve energy and prevent pipes from freezing which can lead to flooding.
