Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident and Family Members,

RE: COVID-19 UPDATE – Today's update for residents & families of Calvary St Joseph’s Retirement Community

As at 8am this morning, we have only received a small number of results back from the third round of testing of St Joseph’s residents. These results are all negative; however we are still waiting on the majority of the results.Given the continuing high demand for community testing, we are unable to confirm a timeframe for receiving the remainder of results.

In the meantime, and in accordance with Hunter New England Public Health Unit directions, Calvary St Joseph’s remains closed for general visitation.

Exemptions will be made for special visits for residents receiving end of life care, so please talk with care staff to make specific arrangements. Please do not hesitate to contact the home if you wish to book a video call with your loved one via our WebEx video call service or have any concerns.

The residents remain well and continue to be cared for in their rooms. We understand that this is a difficult time for our residents and families, and we thank you again for your continued understanding.

As results come to hand, we will continue to work closely with Hunter New England Public Health Unit officials, who will make the decision about whether and when it is safe to re-open Calvary St Joseph’s or lift the current restrictions on residents’ movement.

We will update you again as soon as any information is available.

Thank you again for your continued understanding at this challenging time.

Sincerely,
