New MMA program tackles mild anxiety in students

We're excited about our new program that combines brain science with mindfulness strategies in the classroom.

Mindful Me is a specialised workshop developed and written by Katie Rose, a Level 3 Classroom Teacher and MMA Lead Facilitator.

Our training equips two champions from your school with the tools and skills to deliver this six-week program to selected students.

Key outcomes include:

  • tools and strategies so you can help students with mild anxiety at school
  • a theoretical understanding of brain science basics, focusing on the amygdala, pre-frontal cortex and hippocampus
  • ideas on hands-on activities to foster the development of self-regulation in students
  • access to exclusive Mindful Me resources for participants.

"The skill of being present in the moment - and being able to calm yourself - is one of those skills that is in your toolkit for life....it’s been an incredible partnership [with MMA] and the parents’ feedback has been amazing."

- Jodi Piercey, Deputy Principal Lake Gwelup Primary School

After running a successful pilot program at Lake Gwelup Primary School in 2021, we're now running workshops for educators and wellbeing leaders wishing to incorporate mindfulness into their schools and reap the same enormous benefits.

Our second Mindful Me workshop will be running in June, following a successful first workshop in early May. Chat to us if you're keen to learn more or register for the next workshop below!

MMA to partner with Curtin Uni

We're very excited to join forces with Dr David Lawrence and his team of researchers at Curtin University who will study the benefits of implementing our Recommended Pathway in schools. Curtin Research will help us understand the impact of our programs, as well as fine tune our own delivery, materials, and curriculum. It’s all part of our commitment to quality improvement and meeting the needs of the education community.
