Thank you, At the recent CRN Yorkshire and Humber Research Awards 2023 ceremony, our trust saw three triumphs across twelve categories. The event itself recognised the exceptional successes of professional teams from around our area and a great boost to our Trust that these teams and individuals were named at the awards. Amongst the mentions was an award for 'Best Contribution in Non-NHS Setting' and two 'Highly Commended' members from the trust across two categories. We are delighted that our Trust has been shortlisted for the Place-Based Partnership & Integrated Care Award for the Right Care Right Person in Hull and East Riding for the prestigious Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards 2023. Right Care, Right Person (RCRP) is an operational model developed in collaboration with Humberside Police that changes the way the emergency services respond to calls involving concerns about mental health. The project aims to make sure that people experiencing mental health issues will be attended to by medical professionals as the priority rather than the police as a default. This strategy has been shown to improve outcomes, reduce demand on all services, and make sure the right care is being delivered by the right person. The HSJ Awards reward outstanding contributions to healthcare and are recognised as the most esteemed accolade of healthcare service excellence in the UK. This year they received a record-breaking 1456 entries nationally for the awards. The event to unveil the winners will take place on 16th November at the Battersea Evolution Centre in London. Well done to all our services for their hard work this year, and to all our fellow nominees for this fantastic achievement. We look forward to celebrating at the ceremony later this year. Governor ProfileDominic Kelly: Digital Training Developer of Haxby Group Training Each month we will be sharing a profile of our one of our Governors. Governors represent the views of our staff, our members and local people regarding the Trust’s services and plans. This month Public Governor, Dominic Kelly details his experience, his combined interests in education, healthcare and web development and tells us why he wanted to volunteer to help service users and make valuable contributions towards the Trust's Strategy. If you want to learn more about the Governors or are interested in applying for a vacancy if there are any available, please contact the Membership Office on 01482 389132. Dominic Kelly With the recent launch of the Youth Wellbeing and Recovery College at our Trust, we spoke to a member of the Humber Youth Action Group, who helped co-create it. Ailsa Moan told us about her experience of being a part of the group and how she feels it has led on to giving her new opportunities and helped her achieve her dream of studying Mental Health Nursing at King's College London. Read how the Humber Youth Action Group helped Ailsa secure her future in mental health care with her personal account. The NHS has teamed up with parkrun UK to host ‘Parkrun for the NHS’ on Saturday 8 July. There is still time to express your interest to join our Trust staff at East Park in Hull, and be encouraged to run, walk or volunteer across the 5km route! We’ll be serving post-run refreshments and having a bit of a party to celebrate together after the biggest run in our region. If you think this is for you and you want to support our Trust and the wider NHS, email hnf-tr.communications@nhs.net with your expression of interest. Preparation is underway for a CLEAR transformation project at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust to support Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Hull and East Riding, to develop new models of care and help address increasing demands in CAMHS services, with a second CLEAR transformation project due to take place with the Trust in the New Year, focusing on adult mental health crisis services. Sponsored by NHS England (NHSE), the 26-week innovation project will be led by two Trust managers with oversight provided by a Trust clinician. Colleagues from the NHS North East and Yorkshire region and the national CLEAR team will also support the project. The work will examine the current challenges and explore opportunities to enhance the CAMHS urgent and routine treatment pathways and the potential for further system collaboration to support children and young people after discharge. More information on the national CLEAR programme can be found on the CLEAR website.
